There are many people that are eating Gluten free, either due to an allergy (no matter the severity) or because it helps to alleviate many different health conditions. Whatever your reason may be, baking is something most Gluten Free eaters have to say good bye to. Pretty much everything you bake contains Gluten. Gluten is what gives the elasticity to the dough for making bread, and it is what makes your baked goods have all their chewy goodness. Most Gluten Free mixes are dry and brittle, making it hard to get anything to have flavor and stick together.

Our House has designed a brand new line of Gluten Free baking mixes promising better flavor, texture and quality than any other Gluten Free baking mixes can offer. They even have a “Better Taste Guarantee”. Our House has a complete line of Gluten Free baking mixes including, All-Purpose Flour, Brownie Mix, Cookie Mix, Pancake & Waffle Mix, Cornbread Mix and Baking Mix. Each box comes with two recipes on it, one of the regular recipes you would use the mix for, and another fun recipe!

We tried out the Pancake & Waffle Mix and the Cookie Mix. We decided to make pancakes for the family. Like most Gluten Free baking alternatives they were smaller and dryer than regular pancakes. However, they smelled heavenly and tasted much better than any other Gluten free pancake we had ever had. Our only issue is that there are only three of us and one box pretty much was gone in one breakfast. So be sure to get an extra box.

Next we tried out the recipe for chocolate chip cookies on the back of the Cookie Mix box. I made the recipe originally with butter for a better taste. However, they were still very dry and I could not get them to stick together very well even to put on the cookie sheet so I used extra coconut oil. That turned out to be the best idea I had had all day. The coconut oil not only got the batter to stick so I could put it on the baking sheet, but it also seemed to enhance the flavor of the cookies. They came out great, with a tall glass of milk you have no idea they are even gluten free. One box makes 40 small cookies. I ended up making around 24 regular size cookies from the box. Our House mixes are much easier and closer to regular mixes than I have ever had from a Gluten Free mix. They are definitely the best Gluten Free baked goods I have ever tasted. Why don’t you give them a try?
