September is not just the start of the fall season, but it is also a very popular month to give birth. It usually is in the top three, rotating a little each year between being the most popular month along with June and August. With school in session I am able to visit a lot of new moms and see a lot of newborns and interact with moms and babies. What I think is awesome, are all the new products that are now out. In only three years since I had my son there are already some great new products on the market for babies. Here are two that are extremely popular and after testing, letting other moms test, washing, dirtying, tugging, more borrowing and testing they not only met Next Generation Stay At Home Mom approval, but are very popular to many other parents who have them or tried them out.

Two of the biggest things that moms of 2015 started using more are, ring sling baby carriers, and muslin baby blankets. These are two products that not only do moms use; they typically named these as “life savers” in the parenting world. The next time you, go to a baby shower, visit a new mom, register for a baby shower (Check out our sponsor, Target for babyregistries), or purchasing for your baby, be sure to get a ring sling and a pack of muslin baby blankets.

Most parents of this generation know how important baby wearing is and how wonderful it is to try to wear your baby. Baby wearing is great for bonding, breastfeeding, hands free snuggles, getting things done and settling your baby. Most of the time the problem is not that we do not WANT to wear our babies it is that we cannot find a comfortable way to do so that is also easy to use, durable and safe.

Mamaway, an Australian company has brought back the baby ring sling style that was popular in the early 2000s where you would have a sling to carry your baby in. The problem with sling carriers was that you were carrying baby lying down on your hip. The new way to carry your baby is facing you inward, in a seated position. It should almost look like your baby is seated in a mini seat in front of you. This is the best and safest position to carry baby. (According to the American Academy of Pediatrics) Newborns have their head supported, and older babies can sit with their head out of the sling to look around. The ring sling also allows you to put baby securely on your hip.

The Mamaway Ring Sling Baby Carrier takes the ease of having only the one piece cloth  type carrier and adds a durable Nylon ring (tested to hold a toddler) for guaranteed support so that you do not have to rely solely on your knot tying abilities. The lightweight fabric is 100% cotton, machine washable and dries quickly while it is hanging. (Must hang dry)

I especially loved the sewn in pocket for storage. Folding it into it is a little challenging, but in a pinch you can just stuff it in the pocket and deal with it later. The Mamaway Ring Sling Baby Carrier is one size fits all and fully adjustable. It works for everyone size Petite to Plus. It is easy to use and adjust. Mamaway has some great videos on their website that walk you through exactly how to use it their ring sling carrier. It is great for babies all the way through the toddler age. I love how it is easy to adjust, it holds a lot of weight, but is still a breathable, lightweight fabric. The fabric also wipes clean depending on the spill.

Wearing your baby is important for their development and your sanity. Parents know the amazing benefits of wearing their baby, they just give up trying to find the right carrier for them. Get the Mamaway Ring SlingBaby Carrier for the new parents in your life.

Muslin Cotton is a very pure and gentle type of cotton that is very breathable and soft, which makes it perfect for swaddling a baby. Muslin cotton blankets are the new “receiving blanket” of baby showers. What once was a thick cotton blend that was a little bit bigger than a hand towel type of receiving blanket has been replaced by these large muslin cotton swaddling blankets. More and more new moms are registering for muslin cotton baby blankets and it is easy to see why they love them so much.

Unlike the old receiving blanket muslin cotton blankets typically come in a pack of three and are huge, 48 x 48” to be exact. The reason they are bigger is so that you can properly swaddle your baby with some to spare. The muslin cotton is more breathable so it is perfectly safe and gentle for sensitive skin.

Not only are muslin cotton blankets super soft and cuddly they are very fashionable, right now in the world of parenting. These, Muslin Cotton Swaddle Blankets come in Chevron, Cross and Arrow patterns in the three-pack packaging. When my son was born only three years ago, we had swaddle blankets and receiving blankets. The receiving blankets we did not use very much, they were too small to lie on the floor so he could play on them, and they were too small to swaddle him in, I basically used them as extra burp cloths. The muslin cotton blankets are lighter, bigger, easy to use for swaddling, playing, and easier to clean!

I love when they improve on products that we know and love. It is amazing to see the parenting industry really listen to real parents and make more products easy for us to use. After all parents should be focused on the most important job of all, snuggling their new baby!
