When you become a parent you get everlasting love and laundry. No matter how much I try to keep up with laundry it seems like it is never ending. The dryer time between washes actually is a good half hour or so. We tried the eco-friendly clothesline approach, but with the North Carolina five minute rainstorms we found it ended up being much more work on our part. My husband and son have very sensitive skin when it comes to soaps and detergents. We have to stick to very natural and hypoallergenic detergents.

For a while I used to use the dryer sheets and then I realized all the chemicals they were getting onto our clothing and how they were making the sensitive areas even worse. Not knowing an alternative to dryer sheets and clotheslines, we went without anything but a dryer. This was not our best decision, as it resulted in long drying times, very static filled clothes, and we have pets, and if there was still some hair on something when it went in the dryer it stayed on it when it came out of the dryer. We were in desperate need of some sort of eco-friendly dryer help. After doing some research online I found one of the best eco-friendly ways to dry your clothes are with wool dryer balls.

I-Gruv Dryer Balls and hand made with premium organic New Zealand certified wool. You throw one to three balls into every load (depending on the size, see instructions on the bag) and the balls circulate through the load of laundry allowing the hot air to flow better and helping the clothes to dry faster since the clothes are not always tumbling in a heap. Wool Dryer Balls are energy saving and reduces the drying cycle by 25-40%, and can be used for 1,500+ cycles lasting about a year.

The I-Gruv Wool Dryer Balls are great because they are a natural fabric softener. They are anti-static and hypoallergenic. They also reduce the amount of pet hair that remains on clothing. They actually recommend instead of using chemicals from dryer liquids or sheets to switch to wool dryer balls, because they are much safer for your entire family, especially if you have a newborn. These make a great gift for new moms as they are extremely gentle for newborn babies’ skin. We found they worked wonderfully for us. The clothes dry much faster, are very soft and hair free. You can also add an essential oil to the ball to make your clothing smell great!

You can purchase a set of I-Gruv Wool Dryer Balls (Bag of 6) from Amazon.
