Sponsored Review: US Legal Wills

I wrote this post while participating in a campaign by Tomoson and received a gift and or payment to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced nor reviewed by the company prior to posting. I am disclosing this according to the FTC guidelines.

Being a parent comes with a lot of different types of responsibilities. One of our responsibilities that usually fall by the wayside is the safety/estate planning documents that we need to be sure to have for our children. We need to consider types of life insurance for ourselves or for them. A big document all parents need to have is a Last Will and Testament. A Last Will and Testament not only helps to plan your estate affairs after you are gone it also names the guardians of your children and can set up minor trusts.

Thanks to the lawyers at everyone can have a Last Will and Testament easily at an affordable cost and make it themselves from the comfort of their own home. Their online service easily guides you through the process. You then have the option to download the Will to your computer; you can also email it and print it. It is important to note that in order for your will to be a completely binding document you must print it and have it signed in the presence of two adult witnesses.

UsLegalWills is a BBB A+ Accredited Business that has been providing thousands of wills a week for over fifteen years. They not only offer My Will, but also My Living Will, My Power of Attorney, My Expat Will, My Lifelocker, My Funeral and My Message center. All are easy to use with a frequently asked questions center, plus email and phone support when needed. UsLegalWills also offers cards for your wallet and to mail all your legal documents in a legal envelope for an additional fee.

We did not have a will in place, as Xavier is three, but this was the perfect option for us. We did not have much to put in a will, but wanted to make sure he has guardians and does not have to worry about anything should something happen to my husband or I. I found UsLegalWills extremely easy to use. I was able to make my will is about thirty minutes, would have been shorter if I did not have to look up an address. I like how you can plan out your funeral so your family knows how you want to be buried/cremated/frozen and there is also an area for My Messages that you can just write for people to read. I thought that was a nice touch.

The only issue I ran into is that is does only do simple wills, so if you have anything complicated you cannot do it online. Also, I must admit it is still nicer to do it in person and have the advice of a professional. Even though you can easily access advice on this site you have to know you need advice, where a lawyer in person may offer advice without me even knowing I may need it. However, it is definitely worth it for the price and there is no reason anyone should not have a basic will around especially if you have a child.

  1. Hi Renee, thank you for the review. We are always exploring ways in which we can develop our services. We were interesting in your comment "so if you have anything complicated you cannot do it online". Was there something in particular that you wanted to include in your Will that you were unable to do from the service at We would love to hear more about this so we can add it to our list of possible future enhancements.

    1. I meant that if a person does not know what they are doing and they have a complicated Will such as multiple children perhaps some step children, multiple incomes and will need extra trusts. Although it is possible to do online through your service, I believe the regular person would not know how to do it themselves even with your expertise. That is why I think in those types of cases perhaps an in person lawyer could go over everything that you may not think to ask an online question for.
