Balls In The Air
I greatly apologize for not writing for a couple weeks, but well, it is my blog and sometimes in life things just come up and technically I considered these two weeks my vacation time. I did notice how many of you missed me and sent me messages to make sure everything was alright. I thank you greatly for thinking of us and for being so loyal to my blog that you noticed the lack of new entries.
First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who voted for this blog sometimes multiple times and shared it with your friends for the VoiceBoks Top Mom Blogs in the World! Our little blog Next Generation Stay At Home Mom received 199 votes and won third place! Unfortunately, I cannot say much about that yet, as VoiceBoks is still tallying votes for all their contests that were happening and are doing a formal write up (with a blurb about us!) on Thursday, September 4, 2014 so stay tuned to find out more about that competition, the winners and information about the great resources VoiceBoks "the voice of parenting" website is all about.
As for my lack of posts. We had a very busy, stressful and hectic couple of weeks. One task that I think I have mastered even more since becoming a parent is setting priorities. As much as I love blogging and writing, sometimes it takes a back seat to what is going on in our life. I share as much as I can (or think is interesting on here). I think it is important to show that I am no super mom, I am not any different than any new parent trying to get by. The last couple weeks we had medical appointments, adjustments to new medications, helped a family member who went through surgery, started working on new endeavors for both my husband and myself, as well as continued working on remodeling parts of our home to accommodate the new changes in our lives. As much as I would love to write about many of these things and I plan to, they are unfinished stories right now.
Sometimes a good post takes a minute, sometimes it takes months, sometimes it can take years. All I can say about all of the above is you will read about it sometime on here, but as of right now nothing is finished, so we are still working on getting back in the swing of things while making necessary adjustments. Do not fret though I am sure they will all have happy and hopefully informative endings to each story.
It is also that time in our sweet toddler's life where he is going through what are monumental changes for him. You see I deliberately delayed getting Xavier into a bed of his own, potty training him and taking away his pacifier. He is only two and a half, despite the social norms I believe that a child learns at his own pace. He is working on all these things slowly at his pace and we are being patient and working with him. I think that that is a better approach then just rushing and completely uprooting his world. I want to minimize accidents and tantrums with these big transitions and it is more important to us that he not just focus on one thing but continue to learn multiple things all the time as that is what he does best.
So if you would like our technique for switching from crib to bed, potty training or pacifier eliminating, you will have to wait for us to complete the training, so that we can be sure of what works and what does not. As I said above, some posts take minutes some much longer.
Do not worry though I will still try to post often again, after our long vacation as not everything takes a long time to post and I have missed writing and connecting with all of you. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend and by now have your children all ready to start school or have started up your home school. So we are ready to read, learn and share again together!
Thank you all for your continued support and love, it is always appreciated!
