Review: Adovia Natural Dead Sea Mud Soap

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I wrote this post while participating in a campaign by Tomoson and received a gift and or payment to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced nor reviewed by the company prior to posting. I am disclosing this according to the FTC guidelines.

In keeping with the spirit of rejuvenation this week I decided to do a review of a new kind of soap. I am branching out in my blog and have decided that since this stay at home mom is not very good at crafts or gardening I am going to give you some beauty and fashion tips for moms. Hopefully you like this idea.
So I have been signing up and getting many new samples of fashion things and beauty items lately. We have had fun testing them and it is something that I have always had an interest in. I have very dry, sensitive skin, yet I also have mild acne which is a horrible combination to try to find the right product for. I have a few favorites but nothing that I am not willing to swap for something that works even better so I am always open to new options.

With Summer just around the corner I wanted to make sure my skin is in good shape. I do not tan, nor do I spray tan. I am proud to show my fair skin and quite frankly I have no idea why people feel the need to tan. Therefore, my fair skin still needs to look hydrated and cared for better than I usually get to do. So I was searching for a soap to help with moisture and to really rid the skin of  dead cells. I decided to try the Adovia Natural Dead Sea Mud Soap  it has received many good reviews on Amazon and it is said to be great for Eczema, Psoriasis and acne. On it's website it claims to remove dirt and cleanse your skin, while simultaneously infusing it with minerals essential to keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized.  It is enriched with century old Dead Sea Mud leaving your skin cleansed and nourished. It contains a unique combination of Dead Sea minerals derived from Dead Sea Mud 100% All Natural Moisturizing soap.
After using the soap for a little over two weeks now I have to say that I am very disappointed in it. It does seem to relieve some dead skin, but to be honest it irritated my sensitive, dry skin. It makes me much more irritated and itchy and unless I bathe myself in lotion after using this soap it really is not worth it. The soap was so bad I could not even use it on my face without it being red.
I thought my reaction to this soap was perhaps just because of my skin so I had my husband try and use the soap as well. He has oily to normal skin. He said he did not mind it but did not notice any difference in it. He did appreciate that it did NOT have a fragrance so for once he was not bathed in something too flowery, but he did not notice a difference in his skin.
Quite frankly for the $11.00 they charge you for this soap is extremely expensive considering all the better soap options you can get for the same price.

Next Generation Stay At Home Mom gives Adovia Natural Dead Sea Mud Soap 1 Star

Don't give up hope on rejuvenation though, just go back out to the store and try a different soap to help detox and cleanse yourself so you can fully rejuvenate.

Rejuvenating The Soul

I find it odd there are so many spas you can go to that claim to "rejuvenate your soul". When in fact they are rejuvenating your muscles, your skin, your physical body and sometimes even your mental state of mind, but they do not rejuvenate the soul. I always find the best way to rejuvenate the soul is to get out in to nature and take away the distractions.
We have been so caught up in so many things lately that we really wanted a vacation, but when we sat down and thought about it we realized we just needed some soul rejuvenation. We needed some unconditional, unplugged time together in nature. We took an entire weekend and both took off from work. We took off from friends and family and we decided to spend time together, just the three of us in nature. We drove out to the beach on Saturday and played in the sand and surf. We had dinner on the deck at The Oceanic even through the wind because it was beautiful to watch the seagulls and pelicans fly around the beach. Nothing was better than enjoying an outside meal with my family on the beach and watching my son yell "bird!" as he points at a bunch of pelicans that fly over his head and stuffs another piece of calamari in his mouth. We had a blast walking on the beach and collecting some shells and stones. I always keep a couple of each and put them in a couple jars we have. Xavier loves the beach and water and we had a blast running away from the waves.

Sunday, we stayed more low key and stayed home and played outside all day just the three of us. We brought out drinks and snacks, we laughed and played games all day. We were able to recharge and rejuvenate our soul. We were able to be in the moment and to feel everything and everyone around us.

Be yourself, be with your family and enjoy nature. No matter what your troubles are the more you do this the more you will come to realize that they are not the big picture. I hope you all were able to rejuvenate your souls this past weekend and if not there is always tomorrow!

Xavier's First Easter Egg Hunt

The weather for our Easter was miserable, but it did not stop us from still having a big Easter egg hunt. (With five eggs still in our yard somewhere) Luckily, my sister and my friend who were at dinner with us and Nick's parents; have boys also so they all went outside and had a fun time getting eggs. Since they were older we put Xavier's in a special area out front just for him and made the other boys who were 7+ really look hard for their eggs to burn off some energy and have some good old fashioned fun. Nothing is better than spending time with family and having fun comfort food, talks, desserts, sweets and wet egg hunts.
Xavier really enjoyed opening the eggs. He had some filled with M & M's in his Easter basket and he was very excited. He also enjoyed jelly beans for the first time. I definitely enjoyed having a toddler for Easter this year. So far we have been enjoying the two's perhaps we are off to a good start!

Here is a video from my YouTube account of Xavier's First Easter Egg Hunt!

Here are some fun pictures! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter as much as we did!

Review: The Bouqs

I wrote this post while participating in a campaign by TheBouqs and will receive a free sample of the products to review and to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced, nor reviewed, by the company prior to posting.

I love the springtime and especially after the harsh winter I think we all experienced no matter where you live in the country I am appreciating it more this year. We spend more time outside,we garden and do a lot of outdoor activities. I was disappointed that due to the bad winter many of our plants did not make it. Some were too big to move or were planted and we just could not protect them from the frost. One of our plants was our rose bush.
My husband always tends it and brings me long stem roses from it. I look forward to it every year and I was bummed to not get any this year. So when I got asked if I would write a review for a flower company I was more than excited to at least be able to have some beautiful fresh flowers in the house. To me nothing is better than having a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table. They just beckon to be smelled, and it entices you to go outside and spend time in nature.

I was proud to work with TheBouqs company, their motto is "fresh, easy, beautiful". All of their flowers come straight from a volcano 10,000ft. above sea level. Due to the equatorial sun around the volcano it amounts to the flowers having much brighter colors than most varieties. TheBouqs flower company cuts their flowers when you order them so that no stems are wasted and they are an eco-friendly, sustainable farm. When you order from TheBouqs you can get your flowers within five days after they are cut unlike most flower companies where you get them fourteen days after they are cut. The Bouqs Company is also  a wonderful company to work for, their farms provide, healthcare, living wages, childcare and adult education to their workers.
I got to pick out my own bouquet. You can see they really only run in three prices for the most part they are $40, $50 and $60 dollars. I was able to pick any $40 bouquet. I ordered mine on April 10th hoping they would last until Easter and they would look nice. I was unsure what to order so instead I choose the option "Just Make It Awesome". Precisely, on the morning of April 10th I received via FedEx a delivery of flowers. They come in a box with the directions on the outside.

Once open the bouquet is wrapped in cardboard and the powder packet that you put in the water is wrapped on the outside.

They have a standard typed out card.

The flowers were regular set up, room temperature water, mix, cut one inch of stems off and change water after five days. They lasted until yesterday April 22nd. They even looked fabulous for Easter.
I admit at first I was not impressed. As I do not like boxed flowers, the whole presentation just stinks and takes some of the fun out of getting a bouquet of flowers. Although I realize I must get with the times and if you order flowers online they must come in boxes, but it would be nice if online flower companies would work on their packaging.

Bouquet fresh out of the box.

The flowers from TheBouqs were a large bouquet of large size, pink roses. They were very beautiful, much like I have never seen before. The coloring on them was exquisite; the way the delicate pink faded into the darker pink around the rim of each rose caught my attention for hours.

This is the same bouquet a week into having it.

The bouquet lasted twelve days. They even still looked pretty drooping.

After about three days they really perked up and bloomed and looked incredibe and were such a bright display of beauty and happiness in our house. Xavier even enjoyed smelling them everyday when he would eat at the table.
I would definitely, order from TheBouqs Company again for flowers. Their arrangements are exquisite and unique. They also offer free shipping anywhere in the United States all the time. They are offering 15% off your first order now. They also even offer a concierge service that you can set up flower arrangements to be delivered on certain dates to certain people. So you have no reason to forget Mother's Day this year!
This Next Generation Stay At Home Mom rates TheBouqs Company and Flowers with Four Stars!

See more about star ratings here

10 Ways To Celebrate Earth Day!

It is finally Spring, the buds are blossoming, the sun is shining longer and longer and today is the day that everyone should celebrate. That is because it is what binds and connects each and every one of us; today we celebrate Earth Day!

So Happy Earth Day! In case you are not sure of a good way to celebrate Earth Day or you are stuck in an office all day here are ten ways to celebrate today for this wonderful place that we live on!

10 Ways To Celebrate Earth Day

1. Plant Trees
- It may seem simple but we breathe the oxygen trees produce everyday and quite frankly, we can never have enough trees. A sapling is easy to find at your local home improvement store, garden stores or even your local farmers market.

2. Clean Up Your Community
- We are not asking you to do everything, but add something into your normal routine. Pick up some trash on the side of the road while you are walking into your office. Pick up that stray napkin stuck in the tree. Walk around your local park and you are sure to see something that needs some sprucing up!

3. Contact your local elected officials and talk to them about the environment
 - We elect people into office yet we never bother to let our voices be heard by them. Perhaps if they knew that the people in their area are very environmentally conscious they will keep that in consideration when they make any type of decisions for your area. So be a voice for the earth and make sure you voice your opinion on what we can do as a society to help fix and sustain our beautiful planet.

4. Have a picnic lunch
- Even if you are stuck in work all day, try eating outside today and stay off your cell phone and really enjoy what nature has to offer. You will never seize to be amazed how many things go along around you and you miss it all. The bird looking for a seed, the squirrel in the tree, the ant bringing something home for dinner, our earth not only is our home but the home to many others take a breather and see that today. While you are picking up your trash from your picnic be sure to pick up any other stray trash in the area and you did two good deeds!

5. Plant A Garden
- It is Spring time and there is no better time than to plant a garden. So get outside and put anything from a vegetable or flower or even that Easter Lily that is on your table in a garden. Get your hands dirty and enjoy!

6. Take Pictures of Nature
- All day long people snap pictures with their phones, I see endless selfies, dogs, cats, kids and even food, yet rarely do I see nature. Today post a picture of something beautiful you saw on the earth today!

7. Visit A New Park or Hiking Spot
- If you have not checked out that new park yet, today is a great day to do it! Go on that hike you keep wanting to do. Make your morning jog in a wooded area or park so that you get more nature. Go out and explore!

8. Spread the Word About Earth Day
- I would bet that the mass majority of people do not know today (April 22nd) is Earth Day and always has been. So go around and wish them "Happy Earth Day!", post it on your social networks and let them know ways to celebrate, remember everyone lives here as much as you do!

9. Kick Start Recycling
- I am saying "Kick Start" because you should not "just recycle" today. You should be doing that everyday. So if you count throwing your foil in the correct recycle bin your celebration you are wrong. If you already recycle at home, look for other things you can recycle. Donate clothing, donate some furniture. Buy used items, buy vintage and antiques. All that helps to sustain us from making more things and polluting our earth. So ladies today, try buying Vintage (Read: Shopping Online for Vintage or Hand Me Down Clothing) or actually start recycling in your home or work or find something else you can do to help reduce waste.

10. Donate
- Earthday.org is an organization that is worldwide and works to protect the planet in so many different ways. They are always in need of donations. Today is a great day to donate, you can donate as little as $5 and you still made a difference.

The best way to celebrate Earth Day is to remember that every day should be earth day!

Shopping Online for Vintage or Hand Me Down Clothing

There is a new movement that has been going around lately in the world of clothing. People are reusing other people's clothing without the "gross" stigma attached to it. Women everywhere now have swap parties where they all bring their own clothes, shoes and accessories and each take what they want or sometimes buy (for very cheap) the items that they want.
Lots of consignment and second hand stores are everywhere especially for children. You can drop off your stuff and buy new stuff and many give you credits for both.
Lately I have noticed more and more of these places even online. Most of the time the online stores are vintage or high end fashion that is gently used and marked down. I have had the luxury to be able to check out many different sites with coupons and etc. I wanted to let you all in on a couple of my favorites.

If you are looking for designer children's clothes;
I recommend a wonderful site called DashingBee.com they are a consignment shop where they advertise "Sweet Selection, Prices that Don't Sting". (Adorable slogan) They have some high name brands like Ralph Lauren, Nike, E. Land, Gymboree, Old Navy, Gap, Tea Collection and many others. They have something for all kids. Clothing ranges from $7.00 to around $15.00. However, I have always found their prices reasonable and they frequently have sales and specials for extra discounts. Their shipping is very fast and reliable. The clothing is in pristine condition and looks brand new. They not only offer clothing, but winter clothing, swimwear, costumes and hats and scarves. Their sizes are from newborn to big kid 14. Check them out the next time you are in the market for some children's clothing!

If you are looking for Adult Women's Clothes:
I recommend checking out BackInStyle.com They are a great high end vintage online shop. There are tons of varieties of styles and you can even search for clothing by decades. They even have accessories such as hats, jewelry, shoes and handbags. Most of the items although vintage are new or in like new condition. They have a wide array of brands such as Prada, Dolce and Gabbana and Louis Vuitton. They also have a wide array of prices to suit any budget. The next time you are in the market for some new clothing I highly recommend checking them out!

One drawback that I should mention if you start to embark on the online consignment buying. You need to check the websites at least weekly. As they get new shipments constantly. Sizes and styles can be hard to find. Typically, I do what I like to call "browse shopping" where I have a few items we may need like shirts and look through those for a good style and size that they may have, if I do not find anything I check back next week! You will be surprised what you can find! Happy Hunting!

Review: Tools4Wisdom 2014 Mommy Planner

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I wrote this post while participating in a campaign by Tomoson and received a gift and or payment to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced nor reviewed by the company prior to posting. I am disclosing this according to the FTC guidelines.

I love the plastic cover to protect it. It is on the back also. Helps to keep it neat and spills wipe right off of it!
When you become a parent it is very hard to conceive having to plan out everything. Especially if you work, your spouse works, and if you have many children. The task can be daunting. You basically just trudge through your days dragging from one thing to the next.
What happened to goals you had for yourself? What was that big project you wanted to get done on the house this year with your family? What is it you would like most for your family to accomplish this year? What would you like to accomplish this year? What can you improve on?
These are all questions that we should be asking ourselves all the time. We should not just trudge through life. We should not simply tread water to keep our heads afloat. We should LIVE! In order to live with a family and jobs and responsibilities you need some type of organization.
I personally am super organized. Especially professionally.  I try to do the same in our house. I started an organization center that is working well for us with our new transition with Nick working home and all of us being home all day together. It is working well and I thought things were going great. That was until I was able to test out the Tools4Wisdom 2014 Mommy Planner!

I never realized how much of my life is being bombarded with trivial tasks and how as soon as I have down time I cannot remember anything that I wanted to accomplish. Plus, you forget where you left off. The Tools4Wisdom 2014 Mommy Planner is perfect for moms who are not very organized or who, like me, want to be able to expand upon just doing everyday tasks and meet some higher goals.

Your yearly goal section you can even put them in order of importance.

I loved that this planner has a special section for Goals. You list out each individual goal you would like to accomplish this year. Then you break down what you have to do to accomplish it and then you break it down even farther to say what you are going to do each month to accomplish it and you can schedule it in your weekly planner. Along with all your other tasks. The goals really are intensive. They have sections for professional and personal. There is even resources and ideas to help you start on the right foot. The planner is great it has a yearly, monthly and weekly planner. Plus, the weekly planner is broken up into days and times so you can write in all your appointments.

You write one goal and the steps to achieve it and map it out during the year.

There are places for personal, professional and family goals.

What action are you taking to achieve your goals?

Monthly calendar to map out your goal steps.

Tips and tricks to keep you focused.

Reflection space so you can see what needs improving.
The Tools4Wisdom Planners motto is to inspire you to follow the calling of your heart. That is something I think that many people miss by running on the everyday hamster wheel of life. This planner helps you keep track of what is really important as well as the hamster wheel tasks of just general life. The Tools4Wisdom Planner is a spiral bound weekly Mom Planner that features; a 2014 calendar, Yearly and Monthly Goal Sections, Mommy oriented Weekly Planning Sections, Journal Pages, 1 year of unconditional money-back guarantee, 12 goal setting pages, 12 months weekly planner with 2 page month goals, 2 page month calendars, and 2 page week planner.

The Planner section of the Mommy Planner!

A monthly priority list, here is where you mix your professional, personal, family goals along with things that you are doing this month.

You can specify objectives for each month.

This is a month calendar.

This is your weekly planner. I keep this page always open to the week we are on. Notice the small lines are time slots for each day. The bottom is Mom, Dad, Kids, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Notes sections.

Reflection pages for end of the month as well as journal pages in the back of the planner!
First of all I thought it was nice to have a hard bound notebook for a change. I do get tired of all the electronic calendars and alerts that go off. They do not help me to sometimes see the bigger picture which this planner did. I noticed a difference in our life the first month of using it. We were able to streamline our time much better and I was able to focus on my goals by meeting the small scheduled tasks that are steps to accomplish my goal. I also like that in the weekly planner it had times for appointments as well as sections for Mom, Dad and Kids and a meal planner. Also, you are continually reminded of goals on your weekly planner both personal and family related goals.
It is wonderful to really streamline and I highly recommend doing this. In fact, it is a great thing to do to start off the new year. Instead of resolutions, make some goals and write them down step by step in this planner and get them done this year. The only down side I have to this planner is also my upside. I enjoy the paper and the spiral bound notebook rather than all the digital. However, I can see how some may prefer a digital planner. Especially since initially filling it out can seem very daunting and like a long homework assignment.  So it would be nice if Tools4Wisdom came up with a digital copy or even a miniature copy you could carry with you since it is too big for a purse. I just left it at home and referred to it as needed.  I am hard on spiral bound notebooks and usually prefer bound notebooks or three ring binders but I will admit this is spiral bound very well, as I had no breakage in the binding and no pages falling out or ripping.
As  you read in yesterday's post Next Generation Stay At Home Mom now does Five Star Rating Reviews! Tools4Wisdom 2014 Mommy Planner is a great tool for any parent or household.
