Sponsor Review and Giveaway: Name A Star

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I wrote this post while participating in a campaign by Tomoson and received a gift to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced nor reviewed by the company prior to posting. I am disclosing this according to the FTC guidelines.

There is always that person in your life who seems to have everything and never needs or wants anything. Yet, every year you have to find them something. Something that is really cool that they will love. I agreed to write about this because I believe this is a great gift idea. Especially for your young kids and tweens, as well as any astronomy lover or appreciator of the universe and galaxies beyond us. You should Name A Star after them!
I had heard of this program but had no idea how affordable and easy it really is. You can do it all online by going to Name A Star and for only $12.99 you can receive an incredibly unique and personalized gift that will last forever. Name A Star sends you
- A certificate in the name of the your choice
- You can view your star on Google Earth
- Leave a personalized message
- Entry into the star registry
- Instructions on how to view your star
- Receive it within 48 hours.

Name A Star is very true to their word. I received my Name A Star within forty eight hours in fact so much earlier than I had anticipated that I am using it for a March birthday and I already have it. It is a nice certificate just like this sample one here.

You can view your star on Google earth (but you have to download that) and you can see a personalized message that you can put on there for your person to see. There are also directions to see your star with a telescope. I thought it was a great idea and a great price at $12.99!

My only complaint is it's simplicity of it. It would seem that naming a star should be a big event or award. I would have liked a plaque or etched glass or something. It would be nice to at least have that option. For the price I got a download of everything, which I then have to print out to give to the person. I think that takes a lot of the fun out of having a star named after them, but it is really nice to be able to look on Google Earth and see a personalized message just for you and be able to go outside and see that same star in real life and know that someone loves you so much they put you in our galaxy.

You can purchase your own Name A Star by visiting their website and liking their Facebook page
