Review: Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat

If you have been reading along with my posts this week you will notice my theme is our week's vacation that involved a road trip to upstate New York for my dad and step-mom's wedding. You can check out earlier posts here ( Coolest Small Town, Road Trip With A Toddler).
Armed with the news that we had a big, long road trip in our future I thought now was a good time to upgrade Xavier's infant carrier car seat to a larger convertible car seat. Finding a car seat that would fit into our small car without taking up a ton of space and without compromising our head and leg room in the front was a hard thing to find. It is not so hard once your child faces forward, but Xavier still has a year to go facing backward which can make spacing very hard to maneuver. So I looked and looked online. Being a mommy blogger that reviews things has it's advantages as I had plenty of places to look and options to look at.
We do not splurge on many baby items. As most things go fast. Toys are mainly hand me downs, clothes are hand me downs, all his furniture is bought off of Craigs List. Other then gifts and things I get to test for the blog we do not buy much. However, I put my foot down on the car seat. First, it is something he is going to use for a while. Also, in hopes it may be usable for other children we may have. Lastly, it literally protects him and I have some friends who have been in horrific car accidents and their children have be removed unscratched due to a terrific car seat. So my point is to not skimp on the car seat! That being said reading reviews and doing my blogger research I insisted on getting a Britax car seat. They are the best. They have been around for a very long time and have been a leader in mobile safety for over 70 years. Their commitment to improving child safety is unparalleled, as evidenced by the fact that their products undergo the most rigorous testing in the industry at five BRITAX testing facilities worldwide. Britax also works closely with vehicle manufacturers to encourage design improvements that enhance the performance of child car seats.
Just the choice of which Britax car seat was still a big choice to make. Since we have a small car and needed to not compromise our head and leg room I looked for car seats that worked best with the car we normally use. That is when I came across the Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat.
The Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat has revolutionary head safety through the use of Britax SafeCell technology. It also has integrated steel bars and versa-tether that work together to minimize head excursion and reduce the risk of head injury during a frontal impact. It incorporates Britax Side Impact Protection, offers a five-point harness and multiple buckle and recline adjustments, plus an extra body pillow for support and comfort.
The Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat is designed for children rear facing from 5-40 pounds and forward facing from two years old to 55 pounds. The high density comfort foam provides an extra layer of padding to gently cushion your child.  It has two buckle positions for your growing child. Premium lower LATCH connectors for a quick and simple installation featuring a push button for easy release, built-in Lock offs ensure a snug lap and shoulder belt installation with minimal effort. The Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat also has an anti-slip, contoured base grips that protects the vehicle seat while offering optimum vehicle fit. Which helps make it fit well in smaller vehicles. What is also a nice feature is it has convenient harness holders to keep the harness straps out of the way when you are placing your child in the car seat.
We fell in love with this car seat the moment it arrived. It was easy to put together and install in the car. I loved the harness holders that make it so much easier to put Xavier in the seat and not have to look for the harnesses underneath him. You can tell it is much more comfortable for him as he now sleeps better in this car seat and even frequently rests his head against the sides. We did not have to adjust our front seats at all to install this car seat and we had to install it rear facing. We own a small Suzuki SX4 if that gives you any idea. It is also very lightweight and easy to take in and out of the car which comes in handy as we only have one vehicle and usually we take it out and leave it home while Nick is working in case Xavier and I get invited to go somewhere.

The recline and upright positions are a great bonus with the seat. It is easy to switch from one to the other and we know sometimes Xavier would prefer one or the other so we can easily switch from upright to reclining with a simple click. One of my favorite things about the Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat is the price! It is extremely reasonably priced not only for a convertible car seat but especially considering it is a higher end Britax car seat. If you are in need of a car seat for your infant or toddler or even a grand child this mom highly recommends getting a Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat. You will definitely be glad you did!

The Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat is available in multiple colors and patterns. It retails from $125.00-$199.99 depending on where you buy it. You can purchase your own Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat from these fine retailers

  1. Such seats are available for car drivers also. But according to Health And Safety Training Peterborough it is too risky to use massage seat for the driver because then the chances are more that driver may go to sleep while driving and eventually meet an accident.

  2. This car seat model, for some people, costs a lot; however, most of the parents who’ve purchased the item say that it’s worth paying for. After extensive mechanical studies and researches, Britax achieved their aim of designing a perfect Britax Marathon 70-g3 Convertible Car Seat

  3. It is specially designed to minimize the possible injuries, which a child may get from a crash. Thanks to the car seat’s patented SafeCell Technology, this makes the cells of the seat’s base to compress, in an event of a strong impact. It also decreases forward motion, to prevent the child from catapulting.
