Review: Blue Cotton Photography

I have a tendency to be shy around people I do not know. One thing that has always brought out my shyness is being in front of a camera. I love cameras and always have. However,  I do not like to take pictures. I love pictures themselves though. They are wonderful memories caught in still frames and can also be pure art. However, I cannot take pictures to save my life.

One of the wonderful things about having a baby is that you can get some amazing photographs done of your child. You can do maternity, newborn, six month, one year, family portraits, you name it! A lot of people may think it is expensive but if you look around for the right photographer and if you consider the fact of how many photos you take of your child and how few of those photos you and your spouse are actually in,(with makeup and clothes other then pajamas)  you may consider going the professional route at least for special occasions.

When you do go the professional route, choose a photographer with heart. A photographer with heart knows people, knows how people react and knows how to capture those extremely special moments that happen. They are the photographers who can bring the "shy" out of people and who can capture that person as they truly are.

One such local photographer based here in Wilmington, NC is Lee Ann Bolton of Blue Cotton Photography. She, herself has a smile that can light up the room and a personality that is sure to make you and your family and little ones feel comfortable and at ease and be able to be yourself. She is amazing at capturing those wonderful moments.

Blue Cotton Photography specializes in lifestyle, family, newborn, editorial, pet, headshot or portrait, boudoir and event photography.  Lee Ann is a true artist at heart and loves taking photos of people and nature. "Some of my favorite images are those where I catch someone completely in their own element, oblivious to me or their surroundings." says Lee Ann of Blue Cotton Photography. "This is probably why I love shooting newborns so much. They are innocent and pure".

Her  passion for the arts and photography comes from her parents, as both are extremely creative in their own ways. "I have been taking photos since I was a young girl and I decided to make it my profession."

We had the pleasure of doing a couple of photo shoots with Lee Ann of Blue Cotton Photography. We did a one year photo shoot for Xavier and we also did a family shoot. As Nick and I quickly realized that a whole year had gone by and though we had many pictures of Xavier there were very few of us as a family, and the few family pictures we had we looked like we had not slept and never put on something other then pajamas.

Lee Ann's passion was evident right from the start. She was full of great ideas and locations that were fun to do. Xavier loved playing with Ms. Lee Ann and enjoyed her funny faces and cute poses. I clearly think she would do anything to make him smile.

What was great with the family shoot is she really let us be a family. She would give us directions or places to be but then, let us do our own unique thing and she was able to capture all those precious moments that we had as a family together. Our time together flew by and we remember both days as wonderful days that we spent together.

After our photo sessions with Lee Ann from Blue Cotton Photography it was clear to me that Lee Ann is a photographer with a big heart. You can see her passion behind the lens, you can feel her heart in all her photographs and the way she interacts with who she takes photos of. Plus, she even  does all the photography for Furever Friends Animal rescue completely free for all the new animals in need of rescuing. If that is not heart I do not know what is.

So if you live in the Wilmington, NC area and are looking for a photographer for maternity, newborn, six month, one year, family, lifestyle, special occasion, editorial, pet, headshot/portrait,boudoir or event photography you definitely need to find a photographer with heart. The photographer with the biggest heart in Wilmington is Lee Ann Bolton from Blue Cotton Photography.
