Review: NoseFrida Snotsucker
I have to admit when I became a mom I knew there was going to be new and different things that I was going to have to do but if you had told me that I would write a blog post about a snotsucker I am pretty sure I would have thought you were crazy. That is correct, this is a post about the NoseFrida Snotsucker.
Since having Xavier now for fifteen months, I feel I have a handle on most things. However, when he gets sick I feel very helpless as I am sure most moms do. However, there is not much you can do for a sick baby under the age of two. Most medications they cannot take so you use your humidifier and your suction bulb and lots of snuggles until they get better.
However, after Xavier's last cold that lasted way too long and we had boogers everywhere ( read Running Snot). I thought there just had to be a better way to get the mucus out of Xavier's nose. A way that would not involve him squirming, screaming, crying and me only getting a tiny bit at a time. It seemed like an endless thing all day using that bulb. That's when I found the NoseFrida Snotsucker and ordered it right away.
This thing does not disappoint. I will admit it is a little much to use on a daily basis of one small snot suck, but when Xavier has a cold this is amazing. The tube goes up your child's nostril making a seal and you suck out the snot with the mouthpiece. Don't worry there is a filter in the way so you will not get the mucus into your mouth.
It works amazingly. In one quick couple of sucks Xavier's whole nose is clean for a few hours at least (when he is sick). Xavier is still not crazy about getting his nose sucked out but he does not seem to mind this as much and it is much easier for me to hold him down and use. It makes our lives much more liveable during sick times.
The NoseFrida Snotsucker is doctor invented and recommended. It is 100% hygienic due to the filters. It comes with four filters and you can buy another box of twenty filters for only three dollars. All of the parts detach so that you can clean them with hot soapy water and the filter gets thrown away.
Someone clearly must have had kids who had bad colds when they invented this because they sure knew what they were doing. I wish I had bought one of these sooner as it would have really come in handy when Xavier was a small baby. If you are sick of the bulb when your child has the sniffles go out and get yourself the NoseFrida Snotsucker you will be very glad you did!
