Action Shots

Unlike many mommy blogs with mom writers that are photographers. I am in no way a photographer. Nor do I pretend to be. In fact until Xavier was born my husband, Nick was solely in charge of photo memories. However, when you take on the job of a stay at home mom and your partner works the responsibility of photographic memories ends up falling on you since you are around your little one the most.
I do not mind taking photos. In fact I have an artistic eye. I can tell what would make a great photo, it is then getting that shot to come out correctly in my camera that I have a problem with. I have read a few tips on photographing babies that has helped me throughout these beginning months, but I am afraid that I am now on a new dilemma.
I was trying to take pictures of Xavier to put up a different blog topic. Here is what happened...

This shot was supposed to be him standing up, but as soon as he saw the camera he got down very fast to crawl to me....

Next thing I know he was out of the shot. You can see the end of his butt and foot in this picture.
I think I need to figure out how to take action shots. I proceeded for a long time trying to take different shots of him doing things but all were blurry, as he moved and grooved constantly.
That pretty much has been the way it is now that he is crawling and standing he is always on the move all day long. I enjoy watching him move so much and learn so much but my way of taking precious memory photos has got to change as I cannot figure out how to get him to stay still long enough for a good shot. I guess I need to figure out the action mode on the camera!
