Review: Infantino Jumbo Shape Sorter

One of the toys that Xavier actually needed was a shape sorter. Shape sorters are highly recommended for babies. Not only do they teach shapes, but colors and hand-eye coordination as well which is not always found in other toys. Picking a shape sorter for Xavier was no easy task. There are tons to choose from. All I wanted was a simple one, but well, it had to be a good value and something he would enjoy. Thanks to Infantino we finally found one!

This is the Infantino Jumbo Shape Sorter. It is adorably shaped like an elephant. It comes with five shapes an orange circle, green square, purple triangle, yellow star and pink hexagon. You can spin the shape part of the elephant by either turning his tail or with your hands. You can also just dump the shapes out or pull on the elephant's ears and the shapes come out.

Xavier loved this from the second I gave this to him. I think the friendly elephant helped to interest him. Although he has not figured out all the shapes yet he loves playing with it. He actually just puts them in the elephant's mouth. He also loves to spin the sorter with the tail and his hands. The shapes actually can snap together too so you don't lose them; which comes in handy when I store them in his toy box at night.

I thought this was a great shape sorter for the value. It was only $14.99 and is a new toy from Infantino. Although I'm not sure I would use the word "jumbo" to describe it, it is bigger then most shape sorters. I believe this can keep any baby entertained for a while, as we have had it for a couple months now and it is still one of Xavier's favorite toys. Pick one up for your little one this Christmas!

  1. I have the exact same shape sorter, and my son (now 2 y.o.) loves it as well. We got it as a gift from my hairdresser, out of all people, and it turned out to be a fantastic toy!
